Whichever way you look at it, young folk are the future. Latest figures from the Government show that almost a million UK people aged between 16 and 24 are unemployed. In their latest UK report The Prince’s Trust and RBS found that more than one in five young unemployed people claim that finding a job in the next year is unachievable. Three in five describe looking for work as demoralizing. At a broader level the idea of this being a ‘lost generation’ is establishing itself fast.
With this in mind we are focusing our January 25-27 London Good for Nothing gig on working with innovative ventures tackling better futures for young people. We're really excited to be working with the following three ventures: discoverables is a website that helps young people develop & showcase their key strengths and soft skills to potential employers, Cultivate London provide food growing training to unemployed youth in disused spaces and Only Connect create a sense of belonging & crime prevention programmes for ex offenders and youth at risk.
Expect a weekend of turbo-charged doing and making, good music & grub in an awesome venue provided by the Forward Foundation!
