Hello good people of Winchester!

We are hosting a series of 2 kick-off events to introduce the idea of doing Good for Nothing in our lovely home city.

Yes, it's January, yes it's a bit gloomy but we're gonna bring some energy (and music) to lift our spirits.

This first 'social' will gather a small but perfectly shaped crew with the skills to kickstart our own unique Good for Nothing chapter in Winchester. The second 'sprint' will involve us gathering to tackle an exciting local project aimed at making Winchester more pedal and pedestrian friendly’ (for more details read on below!). Expect a hackathon-type event where we'll roll up our sleeves and get creative...

Please do come along and join a local group of doers, makers and thinkers with a mission to support exciting social and environmental projects using just the power of our creative generosity!

Been 'n' gone

This gig's over but check out the calendar for the next one.

At the first social on Wednesday 8th February, we'll talk a bit about Good for Nothing, explain what it is, how it works and where it came from.

We'll have a drink or two, put some tunes on and start getting ourselves immersed in the first project we're going to tackle with our collective creative generosity.

Connecting Winchester (a holding name for the project) are an alliance of local stakeholders who have come together to reimagine what Winchester could look like if it were to prioritise pedestrians, cycles and public transport over private vehicles.

To help, we're going to be hosting a 1 day sprint-hackathon type event on Saturday 18th March where we'll be working on creative ideas to re-imagine and regenerate the centre of Winchester - bringing to life a vision and a campaign.

Specifically, we're looking to get a diverse mix of people with the skills to:

Reimage road space throughout the city with a series of visualisations, animations and possibly 3D experiences.

Create engaging and imaginative stories about different personas travelling in and around Winchester before and after transformation.

Design a brand and associated name that will captivate the people of Winchester behind this vision

Develop a strategy for making the campaign as successful as possible, measured by the number of people that support its goals._

If that sounds interesting to you, please sign-up for the first gathering and invite anyone you know who you think might be up for it too. The lovely team at Thursday studio will be hosting us and the more, the merrier!
