We'll spend the day working on challenges provided by some great local causes.
The April Centre (https://www.facebook.com/TheAprilCentre ) - The April Centre are a charity supporting homeless people in and around the Colchester area by providing food, counselling, internet access and entertainment in a warm, welcoming and safe environment. They’ve found that they’re so busy actually helping people that they’ve no time to let anyone know about the great work they’re doing - and that’s where we come in!
Chapeau ( http://chapeauvelo.cc/)- Chapeau brings the Colchester cycling community together via workshops, events, rides and a town-centre coffee shop. They’re about making cycling accessible for everyone, and having a laugh while they’re at it.
Colchester Cycling Campaign (http://www.colchester-cycling.org.uk/ ) - CCC have been campaigning for safer cycling practices and infrastructure in Colchester for nearly 25 years, and they’re keen to make what they do more accessible to a wider audience. This weekend we’ll be looking at how to get more people cycling every day, and make it appealing to people of all ages.
Here's a (rough) timeline for the event:
