Good For Nothing @ The Pod

Good for Nothing is about doing good stuff, for nothing, for social enterprises. So we need you! Can you be there and help our venture? Are you a hacker, thinker, doer, designer? Can you code, draw, plan, manage or write?

We’ll be there from 6.30pm. Briefings will be at 7.00pm and we’ll stay until 10pm.

The event is to support the fabulous social venture WSSE. Women Supporting Social Entrepreneur (WSSE) is a peer network for local women creating social change in their Greater Manchester communities. WSSE have been meeting monthly for over a year to determine needs, challenges and barriers to women in social entrepreneurship – ultimately they help women create the change they see needed in communities. A key need they address is to support more women social entrepreneurs to access mentors and through a recently crowd funded programme they encouraged and developed more mentor relationships to support female social entrepreneurs in social business, innovation and leadership.

As a result they now have a growing network with over 80 members interested in developing this kind of support. The aim is to enable more women social entrepreneurs to access a wide variety of support and connections to progress their vision for social change.

WSSE have provided us with a brief for you to answer in 3 hours (or so). So it’s a great chance to do some good and meet like-minded people. In order to complete the briefs, we will provide the essentials such as flip charts, music, pens, drinks & food.

What help do we need?

We need some help to develop our brand, marketing and communications strategy. We need to really clarify what it is WSSE is all about. It’s developed very organically but to develop an online presence we need to start thinking about this stuff. This might be some brand objectives, an understanding of the services and products WSSE can offer, a value proposition, the WSSE Manifesto/values/guiding principles, the brand (name/logo- do we stick with WSSE?)….as you can see, we have lots of people to communicate with for different reasons and can sometimes get in a tangle. We need to get our act together and would love some help!
