I have long done good for something, Doing good feels good and I have had the opportunity in my life to be payed well for my efforts. I am troubled by the idea that all "goods" have a price on them. Money has come to be valued in it self losing sight of the value it represents. Money and the money changers have become the middlemen that take a piece of every transaction. Even love, charity and kindness have become a commodity. Whats in it for me has become the mind set of many people with even basic respect becoming something you have to earn. So at this time in my life having having completed my task of raising and providing for my family. I see the needs around me that are not being meet because there is no profit in it I choose to do good where and when I can. Little things that make life a little better. I found your site by searching the words "Good for Nothing" . I love the play of meaning " doing good for nothing" , "Being good for nothing", "giving good for nothing ". As a young man looking to the future I remember the insulting words " you are good for nothing" and I embrace irony of that statement and choose to be good for nothing.
