Good for Nothing goes to Wellington, NZ
Last month, Sam and the guys at Enspiral, an eco-system of people and companies working for a brighter future, hosted New Zealand’s first Good for Nothing event. Sam shared his thoughts on the experience:
What happens when you get a bunch of awesome, passionate people in a room, chuck some beer and pizza, coffee and snacks around and give them the opportunity to collaborate and do good work for local non-profit projects?
Running non-profit projects is tough work. The vision is big, the cause is important, the work to do is endless and often, the resource is limited. Good for Nothing provides a platform for these worthy projects and organisations to be flooded with enthusiasm and energy for a day of good ol’ collaborative action. The whole idea fits perfectly with Enspiral’s focus of creating systems that empower good causes with more resources.
Two local Wellington projects, ‘The Little Lotus Project’, that provides collaborative art projects for refugee children and ‘Collaboration Cafe’, that kickstarts community action over a cup of coffee, put up their hands for the first round.
Chelsea Robinson, project host for Collaboration Cafe had this to say:
"We left feeling really refreshed - Collaboration Cafe got a make over, and the energy and enthusiasm of our design team was infectious. The design work was stunning, and we can't wait to share it and the story of G4N with the crew who come to join in the fun at Collab Cafe on Monday night"
Pat Shepherd from Little Lotus Project:
"Good For Nothing was like a tornado of good karma. In just 24 hours, Little Lotus Project came out on the other side of the creative storm with an incredible new website, a comms/PR strategy and more. We're so excited to be working with all the amazing content that was created which will help raise funds and awareness to help vulnerable children around the world."
Enspiral is stoked to have kicked off Good for Nothing in NZ and we were genuinely amazed by the amount of work produced. A new brand identity, a new handwritten font, a video, several animations, illustration, a website design overhauled, a comms plan and media kit, loads of new connections and a room full of satisfied people and happy project hosts.

It’s safe to say Good for Nothing will be back at Enspiral again soon so stay tuned if you’re keen to be involved!
Cheers,
Sam
