Nature AND Nurture
On Thursday 20 June, we'll bring you some really interesting Thinking Aloud speakers, focussing on wildlife conservation in our #makechester community, and a local organisation utilising exciting tech across the world to enhance our understanding of sea creatures!
Our first speaker is Sara Evans, co-owner of Lisden Technology with her business and life partner, Kelvin. These guys came onto our radar after we saw a tweet from Dean Paton - who'd discovered the duo in a pub, and got chatting about the cool stuff they do to track migrating whales around the world. And how they helped capture footage and data used on David Attenborough's Blue Planet programme. So cool! They'll tell us all about what they get up to across the world.
Then a little closer to home, environmentalist campaigner Andy Scargill will be exploring with us wildlife and conservation issues like those awful anti-nesting nets, the council cutting verges too early, and about various Chester campaigns we can all get behind and support in our own way.
There will also be the usual open floor opportunities for those of you who want to raise awareness of anything important or awesome going on in Chester. Plus natterings and chatterings about #makechester happenings, and the usual free nibbles and discounted drinks thanks to Commonhall Social...
See you there!
